You spent tons of time planning out your event, but you created it outside of Swell because maybe it's an auction or a race or you simply didn't think about setting up a site to collect registrations.
You send out your your save-the-dates or invitations and get back something like:
“Hey! Thanks for the invitation, but I’ll be out of town that day. How can I make a donation?”
😳
Ummmm now, what?!? You forgot to create a way for people to give and the event is 2 days from now?!?
Don’t worry, we’ve got you!
How to Create a Donation Page in 5 Minutes or Less
You have Swell, which means you can put together a donation page in virtually no time at all.
Here’s an article from our Help Desk to walk you through it in detail and a quick summary to help you get started right now:
Log into Swell and click on events.
Click the green plus sign to create something new. You’ll need a name and a URL here, but don’t overthink it. This doesn’t need to be anything super fancy.
Click on Setup in your new event and head to the branding tab. You’ll need a page header image, a logo image, and an email header image. Skip the rest!
Click on Content in the horizontal menu (top) under setup.
Click the edit icon inline with your index page, delete the default “HOME PAGE” text, and click Save.
Click on Dashboard in the left-hand menu. Mark the other items in your launch checklist as complete and click the blue “I’m Ready button”.
🎉 Ta-da! 🎉 Your new page is done! Use your Donation Page QR Code or direct link to send people there. To get to your direct link click the give now button on your new site's page. Copy the address from your browser's address bar so you so you can paste it in wherever you need it.
Have a Little More Time?
Great! We Have Another 5-minute Tip for You!
If you need a quick way to display your event’s fundraising total and/or leaderboards at your in-person event, point a screen to the Simple Fundraising Display!
You have access to it no matter which license level you have. If you’re in a rush, you can use it as is without any customization. If you have the time, you can upload a custom background, choose font sizes, and more. You can read all about how to access it and how to customize it HERE.
If you need something more robust, Swell Slides is still the tool to use, but for something quick and easy, this is your go-to tool.
One More Thing...
Whether it’s from too much Halloween candy or a really busy fall fundraising season, it’s understandable if you’re feeling a little less energy this time of year. Please take care of yourself. Find a way to see the sun today, even if it’s just for a few minutes.
